Margaret was born in 1917. Her mother died on Christmas day when Margaret was only thirteen years old.

Due to the loss of her mother, she needed to help bring up her younger sisters and was unable to take up an academic scholarship.

She later became married but her young husband died when Margaret pregnant with her second child.

She later remarried and had three more children but her son was tragically killed when he was aged just seventeen.

Her second husband became ill and she nursed him until his untimely death.

Margaret was intelligent, creative, artistic and devoted to her family.

She traveled the world, wrote poetry, painted, volunteered in charity shops and was modern in outlook.

Then she succumbed to dementia but fought valiantly to hide her struggles.

She died just one week after her family had celebrated her ninetieth birthday.
